OSRF has the resources to do its work thanks to the generous support of our sponsors. We gratefully acknowledge their support! If you are interested in supporting OSRF, please contact us.
OSRF is a California Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation described in Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3) to which tax-deductible contributions may be made as allowed by law. Formal recognition by the Internal Revenue Service is pending, but its official determination will be retroactive for purposes of tax exemption and tax deductibility of contributions to our date of incorporation. We will inform donors when our determination letter is received.
Bosch's Research and Technology Center (RTC) in nearby Palo Alto has been using and developing ROS software for several years and has the distinction of being the only non-university recipient of a Willow Garage PR2 as part of the PR2 Beta Program. Bosch RTC continues to use ROS in R&D projects and has made a generous donation to OSRF to support our work.
DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) is funding OSRF's development of the Gazebo robot simulator, which will be used extensively in the DARPA Robotics Challenge.
We learned at ROSCon 2012 that the Robonaut team is extensively using ROS and Gazebo. With support from NASA under the National Robotics Initiative, we hope to help them put ROS in space.
Rethink Robotics's Baxter robot is, in the words of CEO Scott Eckert, "built upon ROS." Rethink has given back to the ROS community with a generous donation to OSRF to support our work.
The ROS-Industrial Consortium supports OSRF with a portion of its membership dues to sustain the ROS ecosystem. The ROS-Industrial Consortium is a growing group of industry collaborators with a common goal of extending ROS to factory automation applications.
Sandia National Laboratories is funding a collaboration with OSRF to develop low-cost, highly dexterous robot hands.
Willow Garage is a Founding Contributor to OSRF. Without Willow Garage's financial, organizational, and moral support, OSRF could never have become the company that we are today. We thank Willow Garage for their early and ongoing support of OSRF.
Yujin Robot is funding a collaboration with OSRF, as part of an international team of researchers and engineers, to develop tools to enable authoring, deployment, and management of multi-robot systems in production environments.
